Curriculum and Teaching

Our school curriculum is based on the principle of promoting comprehensive and balanced development of children through implementing six learning methods: “Physical Fitness and Health”, “Language”, “Kindergarten Teaching”, “Nature and Life”, “Individual and Group” and “Art and Creativity”. Moreover, it will also use life-oriented learning themes so as to be closer to children’s daily experience, cognition and interests. This provides children with a comprehensive and complete learning experience which is beneficial to children’s learning.

Our school caters to the educational goals of Hong Kong’s kindergartens and the needs of early childhood development, and designs a diversified and flexible coherent curriculum in line with what is happening in society. Through various types of game activities, it provides children with a comprehensive and balanced learning experience, and encourages children to be the main subject to give students all-round learning.

Bi-literacy and Tri-lingualism

The school has three foreign English teachers who can help children improve their English skills in “listening, speaking, reading, and writing” by providing fun English activities to children, and children are encouraged to talk to the teacher in English. This provides children more exposure to English and allows them to learn more vocabulary that are used in daily life. The school also has a Putonghua teacher. The teacher will use teaching activities such as story telling and singing children’s songs to let children listen to and speak more Putonghua.

The school advocates the implementation of picture book teaching. Teachers will encourage children to develop an interest in reading by providing diversified and colourful picture books. At the same time, it enhances children’s language ability and makes it easier for children to engage in a pleasant learning atmosphere. Through interesting picture book stories, it lets students experience the situations in the stories so they can learn to think and create original content, and establish creative and exploratory thinking.
